Advance Placement
What is the Advanced Placement Program (AP)?
The Advanced Placement Program offers high school students an opportunity to take challenging college-level coursework and exams. Students who participate in AP studies are getting a head start on their future college career, earning credit or advanced placement in college and discovering new interests.
Why AP?
Before registering for AP coursework, students should decide if they are prepared for the rigors of college level courses and their level of willingness and ability to meet the programs academic challenges.

P.E.R.T.
All current 12th grade students who meet the legislated eligibility requirements on the Grade 10 FCAT/FCAT 2.0 are required to take a college placement test. The PERT, ACT, SAT, and CPT are all approved for this purpose, but the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) has made funds available to districts for administration of the PERT to all eligible students in compliance with this requirement. The PERT will be given to all eligible students in February 2013.

Accomodations
All exams administered by ACT or Collegeboard (AP and PSAT exams) have their own particular criteria to qualify for testing accommodations. Those interested, should visit their respective pages and navigate each organization's site to obtain the necessary information.
For accommodations pertaining to the FCAT, FCAT 2.0, or EOC exams, students and parents are encouraged to speak to their counselor about their request. All such requests must be made through the Special Education Department in a timely manner to ensure that the proper accommodations are planned for accordingly.
